It hasn’t been long at all since I told you all that I had stories coming out in Metastellar and Tales from the Cryptids. Now I’m happy to share that another story, “Fresh on Her Mother’s Twigs,” will appear in Quest issue 2. The story takes its name from a line in Christina Rossetti’s “Goblin Market.”
I set a three-sale goal this year, and, as of July 4, I’ve met it. According to The Grinder, “Fresh on Her Mother’s Twigs” has racked up twenty rejections since I first submitted it in November 2020. It received one hold from Uncanny in 2022 and four personal rejections from Fantasy, Diabolical Plots, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and Strange Horizons between 2021 and 2023. It was accepted on its twenty-first submission—my thirtieth overall in 2026 and my only submission to Quest—and has had one subsequent withdrawal.
As of this writing, I have thirty open submissions ranging from three to 504 days. Many of them are simultaneous and multiple submissions, particularly my poetry, which has not been published since 2015. (My apologies to all the editors who have had to read my poetry in the intervening years.)
I’m currently working on submissions for the Cursed Morsels’ Food Systems Anthology and Diabolical Rot. I have good feelings about them both, which means they’re stories that will have you all doing the Sickos Guy meme.

“Fresh on Her Mother’s Twigs” will appear this August in the second issue of Quest. You can read more of my work here.
